Welcome to Our Gallery

The Guild features an Artist of the Month each month along with an All Member Show. The Artist of the Month selects their own theme and exhibit. The All Member Show changes throughout the year so check back here often to see new exciting work by our local Texas Hill Country Artists.

What is a Guild?

A guild is an association of artisans, formed for mutual aid and the furtherance of their professional interests.

In medieval times, guilds provided opportunities for members to gain experience and skill, moving from apprentice to journeyman, and finally becoming certified masters of their craft. Working together in communal Guild Halls, these artists gained respect and recognition for their talents. At every level, members received support and protection from one another, while all members performed tasks and duties needed to maintain the activities within the Guild.

When you join the Fredericksburg Art Guild, you have the privilege of displaying your art in an interesting gallery, beside the works of other artists, advertised on-line, on social media, and in print. You receive a key to the building which gives you independent access to that communal space.  That key also signifies responsibility of ownership; you are accepting participation in tasks and duties needed to maintain the space, activities and events of our organization.

A Guild, unlike a gallery, a health club, or a country club, is not a business which exists separately from its members.  Membership is a commitment to support others who have committed to support you. A Guild is its members.
